Review: Warped Tour @ Klokgebouw, Eindhoven

Hello everyone!

Last Sunday, my sister, a good friend of mine and myself were in Eindhoven at the first edition of Warped Tour in 15 years. We've seen lots and lots of amazing bands and here's my review.

The first bands started playing at 12:00, and the doors opened on 11:00. We were there from about 10:00, and there already was a gigantic queue like nothing I've ever seen before. The Klokgebouw is an old factory and it's massive! There were three stages where bands played throughout the day, two of which were the size of a large Dutch venue like 013 or the Melkweg. There was also a halfpipe, where professional skaters and BMX-riders did stunts every now and then, which looked pretty awesome.

18 Miles

At first, we checked out 18 Miles, a Dutch metalcore band. They were really good, though I'm not a huge metalcore fan I enjoyed their songs. However, it was 12:00 and everyone was still a bit sleepy, so it wasn't a very smart idea to have them kick off the day. The singer tried to start a pit a couple of times, but it didn't really work out. If their show had been later on the day, I'm sure there would have been a more enthousicatic audience.

Skinny Lister
Skinny Lister, a British modern folk band, was announced in the programme book we got as 'the missing link between Mumford & Sons and Flogging Molly', which seemed pretty strange to us. Since 18 Miles was a bit too much for us so early in the day, we decided to check Skinny Lister out and see what they played. And it was awesome! They are exactly the missing link between Mumford & Sons and Flogging Molly, and I can't really explain why. Their music is uplifting and happy, with similar instruments as Mumfold & Sons use, but with a cool edge to it which indeed reminded me of Flogging Molly. You should just listen to them to understand what I mean. There were people dancing, clapping, smiling and at some point the bass-player even jumped into the crowd with his huge standing bass and started dancing with it, which was hilarious. I'm very glad we listened to Skinny Lister, and I hope to hear more of them soon.

After Skinny Lister, The Charm The Fury played. They're a Dutch metalband, but unlike 18 Miles, their singer is female. My sister, friend and I had already listened to them the evening before, and even though it was, well, metalcore so a lot of screaming going on, the female singer is amazing at it. She actually sounds more like a man doing it, and I don't understand how she's even capable of doing so at all. I didn't really like their music because I just don't really like metalcore, but they were really good at what they were doing and again, lots of respect for Caroline Westendorp for being so awesome.

We Are The Ocean
We then looked at a couple of skaters who weren't really doing much besides going up and down the halfpipe (which looks cool enough because I don't know how they're able to control a skateboard so well, seriously) so we also checked out We Are The Ocean. Chiodos would be playing after them, and we wanted to be at the front, so about halfway though We Are The Ocean we walked in there. None of us knew their music, but I had read about them in Kerrang! magazine, which is always positive about them. Of course a band is always more fun when you can actually sing along with their songs, and we were standing at the back of the room so they were good, but not amazingly so. Until they were playing their final song and we moved our way to the front, and we catched some lines from the song which were so beautiful my friend and I just looked at each other litteraly almost in tears because it was so beautiful. And we had never heard the song before! I can't find the song on youtube, but if I come across it I'll post it immediately because everyone should hear it. If a band is able to do that to a person, I think they're doing the right thing. We Are The Ocean, you rock!

Then my friend and I waited for Chiodos to start playing, while my mother and sister went to see John Coffey, a 'loud rock & roll' band, as they call themselves. I wasn't there in person, but my sister and mother were very enthausiastic about them.

Chiodos
Chiodos
Chiodos is a metalcore band with Craig Owens from D.R.U.G.S, who my friend and I love since the Black Veil Brides gig we went to in Amsterdam two years ago. And Chiodos is awesome too! Their songs are loud and energetic, with Craig as the perfect frontman. I honestly have to say I haven't heard much of their music because I got caught in a wall of death during the second song and spent most of the gig looking for my glasses (which I then found at the lost and found stand without a scratch! Many thanks to whoever took them there from the bottom of my heart) but what I did hear was great. And my friend was completely at the front and about two metres away from Craig the whole time! At 16:00, they did a signing at their merch stand where we got their autographs, and apart from good performers Chiodos are just really nice and funny guys. My friend got a pic with Craig and he signed her shoe and my sister got a hug :) he's an awesome dude and so are his bandmates. They'll be releasing an album in March, with a tour coming up as well. Without a doubt to be continued.

It took us to about 15:00 to find my glasses, so we missed the Dirty Heads and the Maine. But I got my glasses back so that's something.

Then we checked out Crossfaith, a Japanese band, but we didn't really like them. I don't actually know why, their music just wasn't 'it'. After that we went to see Memphis May Fire, who we also didn't know but had heard of. Their music was also metalcore, and though I liked them more than 18 Miles and The Charm The Fury, because they mixed it more with melodic singing. Those moments were really good.

Billy Talent was the next band we saw. My sister is in love with their Dead Silence album, so I was very curious to see them live, though I didn't know them. And they're good! Their rock-ish songs were played perfectly, with perfect guitar solos and perfect singing, and it was obvious that they were great musicians. We were standing at the back of the room so I didn't get to see them play up close, which also means you're not really part of the show. All the jumping and singing along happens in the front. However, I liked their music and I really need to sit down and listen to their albums one day.

We Came As Romans were another metalcore band, but them I did know a bit. Live, they were pretty cool! I recognised some songs from the album Understanding What We've Grown To Be, I think they played Hope? Anyway, we were standing on the balcony along with quite a few other people and had a really pretty overview of the venue, with WCAR playing on the stage, and on the left the halfpipe where skaters were doing some pretty sick stunts. The halfpipe and the stage were light and the rest of the room was dark which looked really cool from where we were standing. Unfortunately, it was too dark for my camera to take a proper picture of it so I can't show you how it looked. Just like with Billy Talent, because we were so far away from the stage, we were a bit disconnected from the actual show. But we had a better view from above than with Billy Talent. I'd love to see WCAR live again.

Enter Shikari
Yellowcard was originally sceduled to play at 17:15, followed by Enter Shikari, but the two gigs were swapped. Earlier that day, Enter Shikari was annouced to be playing as Shikari Sound System because one of the band members had 'family cicumstances', so we were glad they were playing as Enter Shikari anyway, be it before Yellowcard. We were pretty close to the front of the stage, to the right side, but during the gig we were pushed further to the right because a second moshpit started right where we were standing and we weren't very keen on being in one. I'd listened to their album A Flash Flood Of Colour before the gig, and my sister and I could sing along to System/Meltdown. They're nothing like any band I've heard before, combining post-hardcore with electronic effects.
At Warped, they kicked off with System/Meltdown, thank God, so my sister and I happily sang along. The rest of their show, though I couldn't sing along any other songs, was hands down my favourite show of the evening. Their music is just so awesome, and live it really gives it another dimension. Halfway through their show, the singer held a speech on how he was so happy to 'be in a room with people who understand music' and went on to say that 'music is supposed to make you uncomfortable' and that music is needed to change the future. I can't find the speech on YouTube, but it was really inspirational and beautiful.
Enter Shikari. One of the best bands I've ever heard with a fantastic show and I really want to see them live again.

Yellowcard was the last band we saw that evening. My friend and sister were at the front, I was a couple of people behind them. My sister knew Yellowcard pretty well, my friend knew the drummer from the Adam Lambert concert she went to a couple of years ago and I knew two songs because of Guitar Hero.

Yellowcard
Their show was good, but in my opinion, not great. My friend and sister disagree and call it the best show of the day, but I really think Enter Shikari and Chiodos were. I didn't know any of the songs they were playing and, though I really didn't care for this with the other bands we'd seen, the songs Yellowcard played were sometimes even a bit boring to me because of it. This might have also been influenced by the fact I was surrounded by crazy fans singing along to everything which made me feel like 'um i don't know who Yellowcard are lol' pretty much the whole show, causing me to feel a bit out of place there. I did know their song Ocean Avenue, which I did really like because I like the punk rock Blink-182-ish sound it has. Another song I liked was something with an A but I don't recall the name, they made the crowd sing along and it was just a good song. But, like with the rest of their performance, not great.

Throughout the day, my friend, sister, mother and I visited the merch stands of the bands, that were placed in another hall almost like a market. They had lots of T-shirts, writsbands, hoodies, caps, pins and albums from the bands playing, and most bands had signing sessions there as well. My sister is now in posession of a signed Yellowcard album, which she is very happy with :)

Summary of the day: Warped Tour rocks. The music is awesome, the overall vibe is awesome and I really, really, really hope it'll come back next year. On the Dutch website, vanswarpedtour.nl, better photo's than mine and an aftermovie will be posted soon.

Thank you for reading!

Upcoming Gig: Fall Out Boy @ Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam

Hi everyone!

On March 8th, I will be seeing Fall Out Boy live in the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. I'm so so so happy and excited I'm going!!! From what I've seen and heard, the Save Rock And Roll tour is fantasticly spectacular, and FOB is a great band live. This will be my first time seeing them live, all other times have been on the television or YouTube, so seeing them from this close will be awesome.
Source

Of course I'll document the whole gig here, and I really hope I'll be able to make some pictures with and talk to the band. I also wonder when the support act will be announced? Fingers crossed it's Panic! at the Disco.

Upcoming Gig: Warped Tour @ Klokgebouw, Eindhoven

Hello everyone!

Never ever in my life had I expected to be able to say this, but I'm going to Warped Tour! This year, Warped will finally come to Europe, including the Netherlands.

Warped Tour will be held on the 10th of November in Eindhoven, where I've only been a handful of times to visit family.

The line-up is super awesome, with bands like Parkway Drive, Enter Shikari, Billy Talent, Chiodos, Escape the Fate, We Came As Romans, Memphis May Fire, The Maine and more. All bands will be performing across three stages throughout the day, and there'll also be a skate park and a market.

I've wanted to go to Warped Tour ever since I heard of it's existense a couple of years back, but since it's an American festival I'd never expected I'd actually be able to go there. Hopefully, they'll be back next year.

I'm super super super excited! I hope I'll be able to get some pics, maybe even of me with band members? Who knows?

For more info, tickets and the complete line-up, visit http://vanswarpedtour.nl/
Warped Tour will also come to Germany, England, Switzerland, Austria, Australia and pretty much all of the US. Visit http://www.vanswarpedtour.com/events/ to check if Warped is coming near you this year!

Upcoming gig: Black Veil Brides @ Melkweg, Amsterdam

Hello everyone!

Source
This Friday, Black Veil Brides announced new tour dates for 2013, including a show in Amsterdam on the 26th of April. The sale started at 10:00, but when one of my friends called me that night, there where still tickets available. My friend had brought VIP tickets, and asked us to buy those too, because those tickets include a meet & greet. My sister and I were also able to buy the VIP tickets (who were seriously overpriced by the way, a normal ticket was 16 euros and the VIP tickets were 81 euros what the fuck) but the price was worth is because we are meETING BLACK VEIL BRIDES OH MY GOD I have been freaking out over this for the past three days and I'm so excited to see them live for the third time!

Black Veil Brides also released a brand new single from their upcoming album Wretched and Divine, called In The End.

I am very much looking forward to their new album, the show and the meet and greet! Of course I'll write a review afterwards.

In other news, Muse has also announced new European tour dates, with a show in Amsterdam in June. Last time, we weren't able to get tickets, but hopefully we will now.

Is anyone else going to Black Veil Brides too?

Review: Black Veil Brides + Yashin @ 013, Tilburg

Yesterday, I went to the Black Veil Brides gig in 013, Tilburg, with my friend Audrie, my sister and my Mother. This is my review, with pictures and video's!

When we arrived at 013 at about 4 'o clock, there were -to our suprise- only about forty to fifty people waiting outside the venue. One of our friends who wasn't going to the concert but lives close to Tilburg and wanted to stand in the line with us had been in Tilburg since one 'o clock and called to tell us he saw three of the band members (later it turned out to be Andy, CC and Jinxx but he didn't know their names) just casually walking around in Tilburg. He followed them and saw them going inside a small restaurant. We met up with him in the city centre and he showed us the restaurant they went in. We just stood outside the restaurant for a really long time, thinking should we go inside or would that make us stalkers and finally we decided to just sit outside on the restaurant's terrace. Just when we wanted to sit down, a waitress came up to us and told us it would be better if we sat inside, because the terrace was very crowded and it was almost empty inside. My friends, sister, Mother and myself just looked at each other and thought fuck this, we'll sit inside. So we went inside.

Andy, CC and Jinxx were sitting at a table at the back of the restaurant. I think they immediately noticed us and I totally felt like a creepy stalker. Another group of fans who were wearing Black Veil Brides t-shirts sat at a table in the front and saw us enter. When the waitress pointed us to a table only three tables away from the band I heard one of them say 'Oh my God no.'. We sat down and ordered drinks. Let me just tell you that sitting three tables away from Black Veil Brides in an almost empty restaurant is fucking scary and fucking awesome at the same time, and the time we sat there we mostly just nervously laughed and glanced at the guys. I didn't take any pictures (come on, that would make me a real stalker and if you don't believe me well fuck you) but they ordered water melons, they drank coke, and they ate something that looked like huge sandwiches or burgers or something. I don't think the waiters knew who they were serving, which made us look even more awkward in comparison.

We decided to not talk to them, because we thought they deserved some kind or privacy and they probably already hated us for following them to the restaurant. So we just left, and screamed in silence as soon as we were outside again.

When we walked back to 013, we spotted Jake and his girlfriend on the street. Two girls were taking a picture with them and we just stood there -again- should we take a picture or not until one of the girls said 'Just ask him, we did it too.' And we asked him to take a picture with us too. I haven't seen the picture myself yet because it's on my friend's phone, but as soon as I have it I will post it here. I promise.

After taking a picture with Jake, we returned to 013 and waited until we could finally go inside. In the queue, I spotted some people who I also saw at the BVB concert on the 23rd of March in Amsterdam, but the majority I hadn't seen before. Because we had a pretty good spot in the row, we were lucky enough to have a spot at the front inside the venue. There were basically three rows of people standing in between us and the stage. We've never been so close to the front and it was amazing.

As we stood there, I noticed I had left my earplugs in my bag, which was now in the cloakroom. After about half an hour, my Mom finally managed to give me my earplugs (yes I was the person stressing over not having earplugs but yeah I don't really want to get deaf at fourteen, I hope I wasn't too embaressing) and I didn't have to worry about my ears exploding anymore.

 Yashin
Source: Google Images
The support act was Yashin. None of us looked them up before the gig, and we were kind of expecting a Japanese band, so we were kind of shocked when they turned out to be Scottish. Their music was amazing, I absolutely loved it. Wikipedia calls them a post-hardcore band, which I guess is a pretty accurate description of their sound. They really got the crowd going, and when they had finished playing, the crowd chanted 'We want more', which I think for a support act is a pretty rare experience. They ended with their song Stand Up which is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I can't recall the exact words the singer said before playing the song, but he wrote it because when he was younger, people always told him he would never be in a band and never achieve anything in life, and this song was for all of us, as a message to follow your dreams and don't listen to the people telling you you're never going to make it. I really recommend looking the song up if you haven't heard it yet because it's amazing. Yashin is amazing, and I think they're going to get really big.

About half an hour after Yashin ended their performance, the lights in 013 went out again, this time for Black Veil Brides

Black Veil Brides was amazing. I know there are lots of people out there who hate them, but I loved it. BVB opened with New Religion and Youth And Whisky, which made the crowd go insane and immediately set the tone for the rest of the evening. Every time one of the band members would come remotely close to the edge of the stage, everyone started screaming and tried to touch them. It was pretty funny, to be honest, and the band members loved it too. Because Audrie, my sister and I were standing so close to the stage we were being pulled to the stage every ten seconds, and, well, we didn't have much of a choice but to stick out our hand trying to touch the band members as well. Andy touched my hand. And he took Audrie's hand and held it. Fuck yeah.

Black Veil Brides also played Children Surrender, Rebel Yell, All Your Hate, Knives And Pens (which my Mom filmed, watch it here), God Bless You, Love Isn't Always Fair, Set The World On Fire, Legacy, Perfect Weapon, and I believe they also played Sweet Blasphemy? I don't remember the correct order of the setlist, but I know they finished their set with Fallen Angels. CC did his awesome drum solo again, which he did in the Melkweg too (my Mom filmed it too and I uploaded it on YouTube, you can watch it here).

Last time, in the Melkweg, halfway throught the concert we chanted 'Waar is het feestje? Hier is het feestje!' which means 'Where is the party? Here is the party!' but the band thought we were chanting 'We are the spaceship, you are the spaceship'. In 013, we chanted it again and Andy was like 'Ooh you're doing your spaceship song again' and CC did an awesome jam on our spaceship song. But this time, someone decided to also chant 'Bier met tieten tralalalala' which means *ahem*  'Beer with boobs tralalalala'. I don't know whose idea it was to chant that, of all chants, but everyone just screamed along until Andy said something along the lines of 'What, you have a new one? What are you singing, I like t-shirts?' he started singing 'I like t-shirts' and he eventually said 'Good thing you guys like t-shirts. I love them.'. At this point I'm extremely curious about his reaction when he finds out what our t-shirt song really is about...

As I said, Black Beil Brides was awesome and we were all a little sad when the lights went on again and the concert was over. They did a great performance, we had the time of our lives, and it was even better than at the Melkweg because we were basically at the front this time.
After the gig, we went to the merchandise stand where we brought bandana's, t-shirts and a rubber bracelet from Yashin. One of the two singers, Kevin Miles, was there too. We got his autograph and took a picture with him. He was a super sweet guy!

When we were outside again, we went to the side of the building where the tour bus was. We waited a little while for the band to come out like they did at the Melkweg, but there was a big fence seperating the fans from the band and because we also had school again today we decided to leave. We got their autographs last time so it wasn't much of a big deal for us.

Black Veil Brides is working on a new album and I hope they'll come back soon! Yashin was amazing too, and I really think they'll get big soon.
Thanks for reading!

Concert Review: Tim Knol @ Biebelot, 25/11/2011

Tim Knol and band
Last Friday I went to a concert from Tim Knol in Biebelot (that's in Dordrecht). Here is my review, this time with some pictures too.

I went to this gig mith my Mum and my little sister. We arrived when the support act, Gerhardt, had been playing for a while already (we had to come to school for something, nevermind) so I don't actually know how they played. From what I've seen and heard I can say that however it sounded very good, it just wasn't really my taste. But as I said, I only heard four or five songs so I don't really know.

Gerhardt
For some reason, building up the stage for Tim Knol and his band only took about 15 minutes, which is the fastest I've seen so far. Maybe because Gerhardt were two guys with guitars, and the stuff Tim Knol and his band needed where already on stage or something. At least we didn't have to wait too long.

When Tim Knol and his band (okay I'll just introduce his band so I don't have to say 'and his band' all the time: Tim Knol: vocals, guitar - Matthijs van Duijvenbode: keys, vocals, percussion - Jeroen Overman: bass, vocals - Kees Schaper: drums, vocals, percussion - Anne Soldaat: guitar, vocals) stepped on stage, the crowd started screaming and shouting like hell (Biebelot isn't very big, but it sounded like we were in Wembley or something) and you felt everyone was exited. Throughout the concert everyone was dancing, singing, and people who couldn't sing were shouting, there was just this relaxed vibe the whole time. The band played some songs from their first album that all sounded familiar to me, altrough there where only three songs that I can actually sing along (Sam, this song that just goes like 'In this shallow water, we can't drown' but I don't know the name of the song, and When I Got Here). Tim Knol's second album is Days, but I don't actually know any songs from the new album yet. They sounded really good though.

Another picture of Tim and band
There where some funny moments, like when Tim Knol asked some guy in the audience if he had been to one if his shows in Germany and some guy in the back goes like 'COME ON TIM, GO ON!' and Tim Knol just goes like 'Hold on, I'm just having a conversation with this guy over here!' or when Tim Knol told that their drummer, Kees Schaper, once really had to go to the bathroom in the middle of a gig and just walked away, and I guess the same guy shouted 'Come on Kees, you can go now! We don't mind, just hurry up' or at least something like that. And of course everyone just randomly shouted 'Tim Tim Tim Knol Knol Knol Tim Tim Tim Knol Knol Knol' every now and then.

I am very bad at remembering setlists, but I do remember that Sam was the last song they played, and the whole crowd just sang along and this guy in front of us started danging really weird, it was fun.

This is actually my wall
When the gig ended we walked to the merchandise stand as quickly as possible because Tim was going to sign posters. It was really funny because my sister and I were one of the first people in line and two girls in from of us wanted to take a picture and Tim tells my sister and I 'Hold on. Just one more picture and I'll be with you' and we were just like 'Yeah, fine.'. Tim looked a bit stressed. It was really funny because my hands got really shakey when he signed my poster and I wanted to say someting like 'cool, thanks dude' but the only thing I could actually say was 'Thank you'.

Close-up

I don't actually have anything to say anymore. All pictures in this post are made by my Mum, except for the pictures of my poster and shirt, those are made by me. Hope you liked my review!

Upcoming Gig: Black Veil Brides @ Melkweg, Amsterdam

Hello guys,

That's right. I'm going to see BVB next week! I am soooo exited. My little sister and my Mum are also going. I'm probably going to ask a friend of mine to come too because we have one extra ticket. My Dad wanted to go with us, until he heard Black Veil Brides was screamo and metal. Now he keeps talking about 'that heavy metal concert' and we just ignore him.

I have one question. Is there a specific dress code for BVB concerts? I also don't have a BVB bandshirt. What bandshirts can I wear to the gig? I have bandshirts form Green Day, Muse, Metallica, My Chemcial Romance and Nightwish. And one from the Jonas Brothers but... er.... Pretend like I didn't just said that.

Review: Hangover Hero + My Own Army @ Baroeg, 07/10/2011

It's a while ago, but on October 7th I went to a Hangover Hero concert, with My Own Army as support act. This is my review, finally.

My Dad, Mom, little sister and I arrived at Baroeg about one hour before the show. We where quite late -usually when we go to a concert we are in the queue two or three hours before the show- but there weren't much people yet. Ten or fifteen maybe, including us.

Baroeg is a very small venue, with a small bar-like part and a part where the bands play. It is really cute through.
When the doors opened we stayed in the bar-part (I don't know how to call it otherwise) for a while before we walked into the actual part where the band played (don't know another name for this either). Hangover Hero's support act was My Own Army, a band we had never heard of before. People were putting instruments on the stage and stuff (later it turned out to be My Own Army themselves) and we just stood there and waited.

This is My Own Army
Source: Google
My Own Army is awesome! My siter and I both liked their music alot as soon as they started playing. It's a Dutch band, and Dutch bands are usually weird and ugly, but these guys are epic. The song I liked the most was 'Secondhand Mother'. At some point My Own Army played some song from Pink Floyd (How do you even spell that? And nope, I don't know the name of the song). We didn't know it was Pink Floyd until my Dad told us afterwards. But, well, anyways, my sister and I stood at the front and suddenly the singer jumped of the stage right next to us (like, we could have hugged him if we wanted to) and my sister and I where like 'wtf' at first but then we just watched him headbanging and stuff and we went like 'zomg zomg zomg'. I think he found us funny. Then all of a sudden he held his microphone in front of my sisters face and expected her to sing along but we didn't know the lyrics so we just giggled and stepped back. He laughed really hard so I don't think he really cared.
After the show, my Mum brought their CD (they called it an EP, I don't get the diffrence but ok) for 5 euros and got the autographs of all four band members because my sister and I didn't dare to ask (thanks Mum!).
It was really cool. My Own Army rocks.

Then we waited for Hangover Hero. And this old guy wearing a bandshirt from Quarterpast, an album from Mayan I have on my iTunes (lol) started talking to us and we drank a glass of coke. And my sister stole My Own Army's setlist and hanged it on her wall.

Hangover Hero is also awesome! They have this really cool and unique sound. They reminded me of the Foo Fighters a bit. There are no proper pictures of Hangover Hero on Google so sorry, no Hangover Hero pic this time.
Hangover Hero is an unknown band, but it was really great to see dedicated fans singing along all songs and for one moment being the happiest persons alive. Really special.

At the end of the concert we just went home and went to bed immediately. I was soooo tired.

Hangover hero is great. It'd be great to see them live again, and I also want to see My Own Army again.
I hope this review was interesting

Brand New: Muse and MCR at the Reading And Leeds Festival 2011

Hello everyone!

Source: Weheartit
The Reading And Leeds Festival (UK) started yesterday and both Muse and My Chemical Romance have performed there. I've spotted some really cool video's on the internet and I just wanted to show them to you.

Before that, let me remind you that this, for all Musers, is a very special Reading And Leeds Festival. This is the last time Muse will perform songs from their second album Origin Of Symmetry. I don't know if that means that we'll never hear Plug In Baby, Citizen Erased. Bliss and New Born again, but is is a very sad thing.

Source: Tumblr
Anyways, let's move on to the video's.

My Chemical Romance

(song starts at about 2:51)

Awesome Killjoy outfits. James in a Mousekat costume. Mike refused to be dressed up, I guess. But he looks also cool anyway.

Muse

They all look awesome. Don't like Dom's shirt though.

Sorry for the screaming, but come on, this was the best video of the actual openig that I could find.
THE STAGE IS EPIC. OOS FORKS EVERYWHERE.

This video brings back good old memories. Man With The Harmonice + Knights Of Cydonia. I like Chris' bass.

Coolest. Intro. Ever.

Metropolis 2011 Line-Up

Hello everyone!

(I think I might use 'sup guise' again after all. It is actually pretty awesome)

I just found out that the complete line-up for the upcoming Metropolis Festival -where I made a previous post about here- has comfirmed now. This are the bands that will be playing at the festival on the 3rd of July:

JC Thomaz & The Missing Slippers (NL), Death Letters (NL), Pioneers of Love, SX (BE), Krach (NL), Grouplove (VS), Weekend (VS), Half Way Station (NL), Black Milk (VS), Gers (NL), La Boutique Fantastique (NL) The Deaf (NL) The Vaccines (GB), Les Savy Fav (VS), Kurt Vile & The Violators (VS), Phantom Four & The Arguido (NL), Lola Kite (NL), Pop Up Animal Kids (NL), Kleine Viezerik (NL)

Most of the names sound familiar to me, I've probably heard them on the radio or something.
I must say, this line-up made me even more exited about the festival than before. And, I mean, like, come on, it's FREE. Even if you don't know anyone at all, it's just fun to listen to the music and walk around a bit.
As I said in my previous post, I'm going to the festival with some friends of mine, to celebrate my birthday (because on my actual birthday, July 16h, we are all out of the country) so just look out for some strange-looking kid with black hair, too much eyeliner and a bunch of normal-looking friends, it's probably us.

Want to read more about the festival? Check out the official site here

Remember Tim Knol I mentioned in my previous post about the festival? He's getting more and more well known in Europe. I'm so proud pwoud of him! He deserves it, dude. But hey, this was it for now. Are you as exited as I am?

See you next time!

Upcoming Gig: Metropolis Festival 2011

Hallo allemaal,

Vorig jaar kwamen  Little Things That Kill, Baskerville, Baroness, Chief, Hef & Ă–nder, Here We Go Magic, The Hickey Underworld, James Yuill, The Mad Trist, Omar Souleyman, The Strange Boys, Tim Knol, Adam Green, The Hype, Redtrack, Pam Feather, Babylon Circus, Brother Ali, Beans & Fatback, Orchestre Poly Rythmo de Cotonou, Hausmagger, Japandroids, Jack Parow, Accelerators en Chrome Hoof.

OH JA!

My Chemical Romance @ 013: Het Verslag

My Chemical Romance was natuurlijk awesome.

Upcoming Gig: My Chemical Romance @ 013, Tilburg

Nou, de eerste post gaat dus over My Chemical Romance.

Oke.

My Chemical Romance heeft 6 albums uitgebracht: I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love ; Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge ; Life On Murder Scene ; The Black Parade ; The Black Parade Is Dead! ; Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys

Sinds 2009 ben ik diehard My Chem fan en is Gerard Way mijn officiële celeb crush.

Nu ga ik dus weer, in 013, Tilburg :) I'm exited!

My Chem is ontzettend goed live.
