Supernatural Season 9 starts in four days!

Hello everyone,

Are you excited for the new Supernatural season? Well, I am! With only four days to go until the show returns, I decided it's about time to post some of the awesome promo video's and photo's that have been released in the past few weeks.

Obviously there is the promo trailer,
And the extended promo,
And also the 5-minute sneak peek,

but that's not all! This website posted a promo in which we see Dean praying to Castiel in the first episode 'I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here'. And then there's this promo in which Mark Sheppard and Misha Collins, well, promote the new season, but in character. Which is awesome.

A massive load of photo's have been released as well, some of them can be viewed here, here and here.

I've tried to catch up on all the video's and spoilers that have been posted on the net, but I still have no idea what to expect. The season looks very promising and season 8 ended with a huge cliffhanger, of which we're basically all dying to know how it's going to resolve itself.

Even if you've never watched a Supernatural episode in your life, I suggest you watch it this Tuesday, because whatever is going to happen, it's going to be great.

I'm going to China!

Hello everyone,

It's just ben confirmed by my school that my class will be visiting China this year!

My school's been in close contact with a Chinese school for about two years now, and I'm very glad we're able to go. I've never been this far away in my life, and I've never been in a plane before... And this is going to be a 15-hour flight. Oops.

There are lots of things to be taken care of. I need a passport, a visa and the proper vaccines before I'm even allowed to enter the country.

I'll be gone from the 16th of November until the 26th, which unfortunately means I can't attend the Black Veil Brides meet and greet :c this really sucks and I wish I'd been able to go, but this China trip is a once in a lifetime chance I can't miss. We're staying with Chinese families and will visit the Chinese school, so even if I go to China later on in my life, I'll never get to see the Chinese culture from this close.

Of course I will document every second I spend there, so when I'm back I'll make a post in which I'll share my experiences with you.

I'm super super super excited!

Announcement

Hi guys!

I know it's been ages since my last post, but the past year(s) I've completely lost my motivation to write on this blog. I don't want to delete it because I have put a lot of time and effort in it, but I'm not going to update a lot anymore. This probably isn't a surprise considering my last post was published in February, but I still feel the need to properly announce this to my readers and followers, if I still have those anyway.

The next two years will be super busy for me, since my exams are in two years and these years I'll be preparing for them and do some already this year. I also have a job now - tomorrow is my first day - so I won't have much time to be on the Internet at all, let alone blogging.

I do want to keep on writing reviews on this blog. I've been to Muse back in June, which was amazing, but it's been way too long to write a decent review on that. In November, I'm going to Black Veil Brides (with my VIP package including a meet and greet! Yay!) and Warped Tour (omg), both of which I'm super excited about and hopefully will find the time and motivation for to write a review about both gigs.

Hopefully I've informed you enough, and I hope that you'll keep on reading my blog, even though updates won't be made as often as a few years ago.

Lots of love,

Gasoline Diamond

London (with pictures!)

Hello everyone!

Big Ben! Picture taken on our way to Buckingham Palace
Sorry I've been gone for a while, but I've been to London from Wednesday to Friday with my school, and I'd like to tell you all about it.

Day 1

On Wednesday, all people from my year (I'm in the third year of secondary school, I don't know how other school systems work but anyway we went to London with all people in my year) gathered around our school at around 6:30 in the morning. It was early and we were all very tired, but also extremely exited. We drove away at around 7:00.
We didn't go by boat, but we drove to France and took the train there. Let me just tell you one thing: That train is fucking scary. The outside is some scary rusty brown colour and the windows are very tiny, and the inside looks like a Star Wars tunnel gone-wrong. Your vehicle basically gets locked up in a department and at the front and back of the train there's a toilet (I've never been to the toilet on a train before, and after this experience I never will again) and that's it. It's really scary.

About forty minutes after entering the tunnel, we saw daylight again. Everyone was happy because we were in England yay! I tried to take some pictures of small villages in beautiful valleys, but all photo's turned out like this:

Fail.

Before we went into the tunnel, I'd watched Finding Forrester with a good friend of mine who is absolutely obsessed with Sean Connery. The movie is great, everyone reading this should watch it. It's beautiful. After the tunnel, I sat next to another friend of mine and we listened to some music.
(note: our tastes in music are very diffrent but these are some songs we both liked:)
My friend likes My Chemical Romance,
so I err.... forced her to listen to some
songs she hadn't heard yet.

Don't laugh. Everyone loves this song.

Our hostel

We arrived at our hostel at around 4 pm, I think. We stayed at the Hyde Park Inn, with my class and an other one. The other two classes stayed at the Saint Christopher The Village. We drove past their hostel and it looked really nice. In fact, we drove right through the London city centre and it was awesome! But why is there a Starbucks at every streetcorner? Not that I'm complaining...

When we arrived at the youth hostel, we were a bit later than expected and (oh my god my school does this kind of things all the time) our school forgot to bring the entrance tickets to the hostel, so we had no proof that we were even allowed to stay there. Those papers were still in the other hostel. So, after standing outside in the rain for what felt like an hour, we were finally allowed inside. I shared a room with three girls that I do speak a lot and they're very nice, but we're not best friends or anything. I was very happy to be in a room with them though, because as I said, they are very nice and friendly.

Finally, I don't know how much later than expected it was but well it was late, we walked to Buckingham Palace (and we used the Underground, our teachers were so worried about losing us it was almost funny) and then we immediately had to leave to the restaurant we were eating that day: Ask Italian.
Ask Italian is a nice restaurant, but some people in my year are just huge douchebags so the staff had a very stressful evening. The food was really good though, I had a pizza.

Then, we headed for the theatre to watch Billy Elliot.
I've heard so many people talking positively about it but I really didn't think it was that good. Billy Elliot has been playing for what, four years now? And it was really showing. The actors did a very poor job at acting, if you ask me. They've simply played it too many times. I was dissapointed. The dancing was awesome though, the dancers were great. My compliments.

Back in the youth hostel, the three other girls and myself were in our room, and in the room next to us, well, I don't know what was going on but it sounded like a massacre/rave party. And the owner of the hostel came to OUR room to complain and he told us that if we would make one more noise, we would be removed from the hostel. We were completely innocent! We were whispering for heaven's sake, because there was some dude on the staircase that kept saying 'SHHHHHHH' all night long. It was awkward.

Day 2

I showered in a shower without a lock. Enough said.

I also went to Starbucks for the first time that morning. I ordered a caramel frappuchino and I'm in love! I'm not a huge fan of coffee but this is heaven. They did spell my name wrong though. Apparently it's 'Domini'. I was amused.

At around 10 or 11 am, we left for our trip to a museum of our choice. A good friend and I went to the Victoria Albert Museum and it was amazing. We saw an exhibition of jewelry, of theatre stages and costumes and posters (I spotted original Siouxie And The Banshees, Sex Pistols, Rolling Stones and The Cure posters, just so you know) and in the 'Asia' department we spotted a display with Lolita dresses and it was the best thing ever.

After our trip to the museum, we went to the London Eye. Now, I took lots of pictures there, but my camera kept focusing on the rain of the basket we were in and not on the background. Here are some pictures though.
The London Eye is pretty damn scary from this close

Okay that's enough. After the London Eye, we went to Tower Hill with the Underground to eat in a restaurant called WAGAMAMA. We had to eat with chopsticks, which I had only done once before in my life. I looked ridiculous. There was one waitress at the restaurant and she was so awesome! She had blonde hair with hot pink underneath, in two ponytails, and she'd painted a rose on her cheek with eyeliner. The fact that her boss let her look the way she wanted at work made me smile.
We had so much food it was too much for me. I loved it though, if I ever visit London again I'll come back here for sure.

After dinner, we had the coolest thing ever: A Jack The Ripper Tour.
Basically, a guide took us to some of the places of some of Jack's victims and showed us pictures and told us stories of how he killed people and stuff, it was awesome. I highly recommend doing a Jack The Ripper Tour if you ever have the chance to. We walked past some spooky buildings, I have pictures!

Some people were scared to death but I loved it.

Okay. This night was weird. When we got back at the hostel, there were French boys staying in the room next to us, throwing a party just like the people the night before, and this time the boys (I think they were like 12 or something) would walk around in nothing but their boxer and smile at us. That was pretty scary for sure. Also, there was a girl from our class staying in our room, because she liked our room better than the room she was supposed to sleep in. At some point in the evening, there were people in our hallway so she got out of our room and came back with a bunch of Italian boys. I was half asleep and introduced myself to one of them. I've slept most of the night, but what I do know is that the guys kept knocking on our door all night long asking for that girl, and one time a teacher came into our room when one of the guys was there so we hid him behind the door.

Day 3

In the morning, I went to Starbucks again and ordered another frappuchino, but one size bigger this time. This time they also wrote my name wrong, they wrote 'Domine' which was also amusing.

Then, we were given some free time. Originally, we would've had 3 hours but we were behind scedule again and were only given 2 hours. My friends and I wanted to go to Camden really bad, but we didn't have enough time so we went to a bookstore where I brought The Tales Of Beedle The Bard and Quidditch Through The Ages. We had to arrange our own lunch in Covent Garden (just like the day before, by the way) but things are so expensive there we brought lunch in a supermarket.

Now comes the epic part.
The BBC Experience! We were going to have a tour through some studios and stuff and I was so excited!

AND GUYS. THERE WAS DOCTOR WHO EVERYWHERE. I SCREAMED. I ALMOST DIED. MY HEART(S) STOPPED BEATING OKAY. I HAVE PROOF.

At the main entrance

A TARDIS. OH MY GOD. THEY USED IT IN THE ACTUAL SERIES.
I TOUCHED IT
SO TECHNICALLY I HAVE SHAKED THE DOCTOR'S HAND

TOO MANY EMOTIONS

We weren't allowed to take pictures of everything, the whole place is very well secured and they like to keep stuff private. They showed us two studios, one where they used to host the sport news and one where shows like Dancing With The Stars (or well, I don't know how it's called in English but you know what I mean) are recorded.

Look how big!

Dramatic close-up of the lights.
After seeing the studios, our guides let us read the news and play The Weakest Link in a small studio made for the tour. There. Was. A. Cybermen. Mask.

Then we walked through a hallway, to the BBC shop, and I saw this

A mask from The Girl in the Fireplace, my favourite episode :3

An Ood mask!
And this was on the wall of the BBC shop:

There, I brought two posters and a Doctor Who action figure of the Eleventh Doctor. My friend brought a Doctor Who chess game. How awesome is that.

After the BBC Experience, we had an hour to do something by ourselves. My friends and I went to a HUUUUGE music store called HMV where I brought an Avenged Sevenfold poster and an Iron Maiden bag. Because I can. Then we had dinner at a restaurant called Leon Carnaby Street. I had a wrap and it was nice, but it had chorizo and, like, one hundred kilos of garlic so the smell was unbelievable. It was really nice food though. After dinner, we had another hour to do something by ourselves before going to the Wizard Of Oz. So we went to Drop Dead store (the store is so cool, they have some really nice clothes) and went back to HMV where I brought two Avenged Sevenfold CD's: City Of Evil and Waking The Fallen.

The Wizard Of Oz was a fantastic musical. I liked it way better than Billy Elliot. The decor was awesome, the costumes were amazing and the songs very catchy. I loved it.

After the Wizard Of Oz, we had to go back to the Netherlands again. The way back is a bit of a blur in my mind...

London was amazing and I can't wait to go back there. It was awesome.

Thank you for reading!

Internet Problems

I'm writing this on my dad's computer so I'm keeping it short.
My computer has no internet. It's weird, but it just doens't work anymore, all of a sudden. So I can't do anything. Only on my dad's computer. This is the first time I've been online in, well it feels like a week.
As soon as possible, I'm going to write a review from a concert I've been to last Friday, and I have another concert coming up in two weeks, where I'm also going to write about soon.
My dad says he doesn't know how to fix the problem, so I have no idea when I'll have internet again.
Sorry to keep you guys waiting,

My Apologies

Hello,

Sorry for my lack of new posts lately. School has started three weeks ago and my timetable sucks. I start early and get home late, and it makes me so tired the only thing I can do is crash on the sofa and watch TV, eat dinner and do my homework, and then go to bed. I'm exhausted.
My grandma past away this wednesday morning, around 9 AM. She was one of the most fantastic persons I have ever had the honour to know in my life, and I miss her alot. We all do. Her funeral is tomorrow.
I hope you understand why I haven't posted much the past few weeks. I'm trying to think of some new posts, but I just feel like I'm being very unoriginal. You'll hear from me soon.

XOXO

Summer Holiday!

Hey everyone,

I think most of you are enjoying their summer holiday right now. Well, at least I am. And this saturday (the 9th of July, in case you didn't knew) I will be leaving on a 3-week holiday to Czech Republic. I won't be able to post anything in those three weeks, but before I leave I'm planning on making an extra long Behind The Songs post, a summer-proof alternative playlist, a Fashion From My Perspective post -the poll I made wasn't very helpful, Cybergoth, Romantic Goth and Geek Goth all had one vote so I need to figure out which style I'm going to do- and I finally recieved my online orders, so I might make a post about those as well.

I hope I've informed you enough, and I hope you're all enjoying your holiday as much as I am!

American Idiot Exclusive

Hey everyone, I just found this on the Green Day site:

SINGAPORE – Tom Hanks’ Playtone Productions is set to produce an open-ended series,American Gods, for HBO, based on Neil Gaiman’s award-winning novel, while the company’s next project, Major Matt Mason, is in talks with Robert Zemeckis to direct in 3D, Playtone partner Gary Goetzman told The Hollywood Reporter.
The series-in-development, revolving around the question “are you a god if no one believes in you?” is executive produced by Goetzman and Hanks, with Bob Richardson, and Gaiman on board as executive producer and writer.
Now slated for six seasons, each season will be of 10-12, hour-long episodes with a budget of around $35-40 million per season, targeted to debut on the cable powerhouse in 2013 at the earliest.
Rich in religious folklore that spanned millennia and featuring deities from Greek and Nordic mythology, and even the Judeo-Christian monotheistic God making an appearance, in the contemporary U.S., American Gods will be effects-heavy to do justice to the awe-inspiring power of the divine beings. “There are some crazy things in there. We’ll probably be doing more effects in there than it’s been done on a television series,” said Goetzman.
But materializing much sooner than the deities on earth series will be Playtone’s next Hanks-starring project, the toy-to-screen Major Matt Mason, in 3D.
The producers are in talks with frequent Hanks collaborator in Forrest Gump and The Polar Express, Robert Zemeckis, to direct a screenplay written by Hanks and Graham Yost for Universal.
The live-action family film about space adventure, with a tentative budget of over $100 million, is based on a Mattel action figure. It would be the second 3D production for Playtone, which produced with Imax in 2005 the documentary Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon 3D, co-written, co-produced and narrated by Hanks.
After the gods and the space adventurer comes the idiot. Besides American Gods, Playtone is also developing American Idiot, a screen version of the Broadway musical adapted from Green Day’s eponymous concept album, for 2013 premiere.
Director Michael Mayer of the stage version will direct the movie, while Billie Joe Armstrong will reprise his Broadway role as St. Jimmy in the movie version. The adaptation is Playtone’s second musical after the blockbuster hit, Mamma Mia!, which grossed over $600 million worldwide.
“Mamma Mia! proved that if the musical is right, obviously it can go into the stratosphere, as far as box office gross. We’re always looking for musicals,” said Goetzman, whose company also owns the films rights of Spring Awakening, which the partners are planning to produce in an independent way.
“If we can do that, it’d be a genre that’s as respected as any produced by the studios. Maybe there will be three musicals a year, maybe five. I think that’s important otherwise we’d just have this tentpole mentality where if it’s not based on a comic book or cost $200 million, you're stacked in like pillars. We need all these genres to be respected and we need the studios not to be afraid of them,” he said.
“Studios are afraid of adult movies for a couple of years now, but I felt at the end of last year with The King’s Speech and so many films that did well, they might wake up the studios up with the fact that the adult drama can still be a viable picture to make. You can’t just cut down the film business to horror films, tentpole action, and really stupid comedies. You’ve got to do other stuff. As we know, the film business is always in a state of flux anyway, so it’s in their best interest to understand that whatever you think that’s the greatest kind of movie to make, it will change,” adds Goetzman.
Goetzman and Hanks are in Singapore for the closing night premiere of Larry Crowne at ScreenSingapore.
The comedy, which Hanks wrote along with Nia Vardalos and starred in with his Charlie Wilson’s War co-star Julia Roberts, is the first feature film Hanks directed since 1996’s That Thing You Do! The film is scheduled for release on July 1, which serves as counter-programming to the superhero blockbuster summer season from Independence Day weekend.
“I really feel like more people are going to the movies that don’t necessarily want to see a superhero picture, and this gives them a great alternative to go to see two big movies star in a fun romantic comedy, rooted in real issues but still entertaining,’ said Goetzman.
The issues are indeed real and they certainly seem bleak – Hanks’ store staff character goes to college after he was made redundant; Roberts’ character, who became Hanks’ teacher in college, resorted to drinking, having to face crowds of ignorant and apathetic students – a premise that might seem too close to home in recession bound America.
“It’s a line that Tom had to ride in writing it that it was a subject that is in America and in many parts of the world right now, but the best way to tell a story sometimes is with humor. There’s so much humor and hope in it, and good feelings about it, he accomplished that in that it’s a story that’s rooted in reality, but still a very fun movie. Sometimes we just have to say, ‘hey, you know what? You’re gonna work it out. It’s not going to go away tomorrow, but stay out there, and be hopeful, buy a scooter!”

A movie from American Idiot would be so awesome. I hope it's going to be in the cinemas all over the world, not just in America. I would die to see the movie. What do you think?

Muse win an Ivor Novello Award plus some news about their new album

Muse have won an Ivor Novello Award! The band were presented with the award for International Achievement at the ceremony in London on Thursday 19 May. The Ivors are a celebration and recognition of British music writing talent.
Other winners included Villagers, Plan B, Dizzee Rascal, Steve Winwood, Free founder Paul Rodgers and Stephen Sondheim. These covetable awards are judged by the song writing community.

Source: muse.mu

Dude, Muse is winning lots of awards lately. Maybe they should do an European tour too. And visit the Netherlands, of course. I still have pictures hanging in my room from their last concert here, in the
Goffertpark, in June last year. Anyways, I wanted to share this with you.
I also found this on muselive.com, the official muse fansite.

Muse will return with a potentially "softer" album next year, the band have revealed.

Drummer Dominic Howard and bassist Chris Wolstenholme spoke about the plan to NME at this afternoon's (May 19) Ivor Novello Awards ceremony in London, where they won the International Achievement award.

After revealing that they were planning to put out the follow-up to 2009’s 'The Resistance' in 2012 Howard said that the album could mark a shift in style for the band. "Matt [Bellamy, frontman] showed me a few chords recently," he said. "Who knows, it might be softer rock, but then it's up to me and Chris to make it heavy again. A heavy rock lullaby! But I'm sure it will move forward in some way."

Wolstenholme explained that the band had been jamming on the road ahead of sessions later this year. He added: "We've got Reading Festival [plus the Leeds Festival, with them set to headline both] in August and maybe a few weeks off after that. So September, October time we’ll get into the studio and start writing and working on the songs."

Howard concluded: "It takes as long as it takes really, because you have to love it before you can just chuck it out there and into the real world. But definitely next year."

Muse have suggested that they will play their 2001 album 'Origin Of Symmetry' in full at the Reading And Leeds Festivals.

Yay I love 2012. A new Muse album, the world coming to an end... See you next time!

Have you notices the new blog counter, right under the poll? It counts how many people are visiting my blog at the same time. So if it's only you, you will see '1 online', but there can also be two or more people at the same time.
Very cool, indeed.

What? It's cool, right? And my very cool GIFs won't move, for some strange reason. So I was like 'Yeah, I can do a serious picture instead of a funny one.' And come on, their van is priceless.

Holy Crap This Is Awesome

Sup guise (told you I was going to use it again)

I just discovered something awesome. Well, my little sister did and she came running into my room, screaming 'MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE HAS COVERED SONG 2!!!' and I was like 'AAAAAAAAAAAH!' and she was like 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!' and then I told her to go away and looked for the song on YouTube. And it's freaking awesome.

Okay. I get it if you go like 'wtf' now. Let me explain the situation to you. Since we have Guitar Hero 5 for the Wii, I've loved the song 'Song 2' from Blur. I just do. And so, apparently, My Chemical Romance has covered it. And their version is even more lovable. So yeah, why not share it wih my lovely readers -and people who just were like 'omg like the name of ur blog lets check it out', yes, I know you are reading this and are going like 'omg she's talking 'bout me' Yes I am and I am hyper so I hope you don't mind. All my other posts are serious. Sorry dude.

Anyways. This is the original song

And this is the MCR version

Which seat can I take one do you like more?

See you next time!

Metropolis 2011 Line-Up

Hello everyone!

(I think I might use 'sup guise' again after all. It is actually pretty awesome)

I just found out that the complete line-up for the upcoming Metropolis Festival -where I made a previous post about here- has comfirmed now. This are the bands that will be playing at the festival on the 3rd of July:

JC Thomaz & The Missing Slippers (NL), Death Letters (NL), Pioneers of Love, SX (BE), Krach (NL), Grouplove (VS), Weekend (VS), Half Way Station (NL), Black Milk (VS), Gers (NL), La Boutique Fantastique (NL) The Deaf (NL) The Vaccines (GB), Les Savy Fav (VS), Kurt Vile & The Violators (VS), Phantom Four & The Arguido (NL), Lola Kite (NL), Pop Up Animal Kids (NL), Kleine Viezerik (NL)

Most of the names sound familiar to me, I've probably heard them on the radio or something.
I must say, this line-up made me even more exited about the festival than before. And, I mean, like, come on, it's FREE. Even if you don't know anyone at all, it's just fun to listen to the music and walk around a bit.
As I said in my previous post, I'm going to the festival with some friends of mine, to celebrate my birthday (because on my actual birthday, July 16h, we are all out of the country) so just look out for some strange-looking kid with black hair, too much eyeliner and a bunch of normal-looking friends, it's probably us.

Want to read more about the festival? Check out the official site here

Remember Tim Knol I mentioned in my previous post about the festival? He's getting more and more well known in Europe. I'm so proud pwoud of him! He deserves it, dude. But hey, this was it for now. Are you as exited as I am?

See you next time!
