My last week in Czech Republic

Sup guise!

This post is my final week in the Czech Republic, and after posting things will return back to normal with new Behind the Songs posts , Fashion From My Perspective posts , a book review, and a Hairdye Adventure coming soon... So stay tuned.

Day 15 (July 23rd, 2011)

The sun is shining! Finally! We´ve been to the zoo in Dvur Kralové nad Labem today. We also did a safari, which was really cool. I brought a huge stuffed animal: an owl. I named him Hedwig because he looks like Hedwig (Harry Potter´s owl, in case you were wondering). He´s white and has black dots on his back. Really cute.

Day 16 (July 24th)

The morning was rainy again.
My sister found a nearby museum in Scutec on the internet so we decided to go there. It was really boring. REALLY BORING. It was about making shoes and something else - I didn´t even understand what it was but it had to do something with rocks.
We also visited a castle - well, a riun -  which was beautiful. We drank Pepsi (and my dad drank beer) in a bar next to a church and went back to the campside

Day 17 (July 25th)

We went to Pardubice today. It seems like a modern, industrial city, but it has a small, old city-centre with a castle. We did a city-walk that went trough the old part of the city, trough the castle and a big park, and we also went to a small church that was really beautiful. A warm sunny day (yes, I put sunscreen on and yes, I got a sunburn after all). We got ourselves a big ice cream and then we went back to the campside again.

Day 18 (July 26th)

We went to Prague for the third time today. The weather is better than on the campside. We parked our car at the train station and brought a card for the Underground. The walls in the Underground stations look like the Daleks (You will be exterminated, you will be exterminated) from Dr. Who! When we get out of the subway at the other side of the river, the weather´s really sunny. We walk trough Male Strane, a beautiful, old part of Prague with gorgeous old buildings. Lots of embassy´s are located there. We even spotted the Dutch ambassade, lol.
We drink and eat something at a pavement (really nice, but also really expensive) and then go on. The St. Nicolaschurch (Chrám svatého Mikuláse) is by far the most amazing church I´ve seen in my entire life. We also visited the castle (and had do climb up stairs that were way loo long). The view is great from there. Then we went back via the Karelsbridge on the other side of the river. Then we all begun to get tired and we decided to take the subway back to the car. My sister and I lost our parents, which was really scary, but luckily we found them back after a while. They - but mostly my Dad - got really angry at us.

Day 19 (July 27th)

Our last day in Czech. We didn´t want to do something that´s too far away today, so we decided to go to the open-air museum in Hlinsko, that again is really hard to find. It´s about how the people in the area lived, with lots of old houses and barns. Really cute! I brought two necklages here, one with a Celtic cross and one with an Ankh. For only 2 euros and 50 cents! They´re so cool. Back at the campside we start packing our stuff, and we eat our final meal in our favourite bar/restaurant: Bartolomé.

Day 20 (July 28th)

We leave early in the morning (I believe around 7 or 8 a.m). We ate dinner at McDonalds (my Dad HATES McDonalds so he was complaining about everything) somewhere in the north/eastern part of our country and then drove home. We arrived late, but our holiday was fantastic.

My Holiday in Czech Republic, week two

Hello everyone!

This post is about my second week in Czech.

Day 8 (July 16, 2011) My 14th birthday!

We ate breakfast at around 9:30 AM today, at the campside, in a big, old barn which had been transformed into a lovely kind of bar where you can eat and drink, and watch TV. I got to unwrap my presents there! And we called my grandpa, because we share the same birthday date. My presents included the Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge cd from My Chemical Romance, a pair of black gloves with a cute bow from Living Dead Souls, Manic Panic Creature Of The Night Supernatural Pressed Powder (what a name) in the colour Anemic (I STILL have to buy a powder brush for that) a necklage with an 'Eye Of Ra' pendant which is awesome, another necklage with a spider in it's web which is also awesome, a mug, and my uncle and aunt - who live in France - send me a Muse songbook from the Resistance that has guitar, piano and vocals in it. At last I got two books: one from Emily The Strange and 'Marked' from the House Of Night Novel.
(in case any of my family members read this: sorry if I forgot something!)

Then we went off to the caves (I always go to caves on my birthday, don't know why, I just like caves). We had do search again, this time near Blansko, close to Brno. The most well-known cave turns out to be booked up completely today.

Insead, we visited another cave  from which I forgotten the name of, I think it was called Punkva but I'm not sure. At least it's known for it's beautiful colours. And it was truly beautiful. Too bad our guide trough the cave spoke only Czech, we didn't understand anything of it. We got a paper with the English translation, but it was way too dark to read.

We decided to come back here once, and then we went to Luze, looking for a medieval-themed Pizza restaurant where I wanted to eat SO BAD. Well, we couldn't find it in Luze so after asking someone it turned out to be in a place called Hrochûv T^ynec. The owner of the restaurant speaks English pretty good, and he helped us with choosing a pizza and we talked with him for quite some time. The food was delicious, and then we decided to go to some rockparty that was only blocks away. It was really funny, it was in a small park with benches and tables, and in the middle there was this concrete dancefloor with a DJ - he had a bandana, and sunglasses. He looked like Dr. Death Defying - they played rock 'n roll music, and Czech metal which was pretty good, altrough none of us understood the lyrics.

We drove back late.

Day 9 (July 17th, 2011)

It's a nice day today, but we've done absolutely NOTHING. Just sitting, reading, eating, washing our socks, sitting in the sun (my mom, not me, actually) listening to music.... Great. Lots of new faces on the campside today, they all arrived yesterday.
The wind started to blow quite hard in the afternoon, so we got to bed early.

Day 10 (July 18, 2011)

The weather's not too good today. We drove to Nove Hady (or something like that) and went for a little walk. But it started raining so we went food-shopping.
We played some games back at the campside, and we wrote ánd posted all postcards.

Day 11 (July 19, 2011)

Today is a nice day with sunshine. We went back to Chrudim to go to the doll museum. We drank something at a pavement first (the guy that helped us was having a bad day or something? He was so pissed off). We doll museum was really cute! Then we got back to the campside again.

Day 12 (July 20, 2011)

We went back to the caves near Blansko today, and when we arrived at 11:00 AM there was still space for us. The caves are beautiful.
The tour is shorter that usual, because they found a dead body in the caves mayebe just one hour before we got there. We could actually see the dead body lying underneath a bodybag, it upset all of us. We decided to take the tour anyway. When we got back at about 12:00 AM we saw an opportunity to take the usual trip anyway, so we got to see another part of the caved we hadn't seen yet.
I brought a necklage with a bat pendant at the souvenir shop.

We also went shopping in Brno -so many stores- and my sister brought AllStars there.
Nice, big city with a big town centre. Then we drove back two hours and ate dinner in the village near the campside again.

Day 13 (July 21, 2011)

It rained ALL DAY. Really, all day. It didn't stop ONCE. So we stayed insite our tent all day, playing games, reading, waiting for the rain to stop (which, obivously, didn't happen) and just being lazy...
We ate dinner in the village again, in the only restaurant where we hadn't been yet. There is live music, from some old guy singing horrible songs like Una Paloma Blanca (if you spell it that way). People are dancing. But the food is the best we've had so far. Everything on the menu is in Czech, but we did understand it a bit this time.

Day 14 (July 22, 2011)

The morning is still rainy, but it is much better that yesterday. We drove to Nové Hrady and visited a castle, which is beautiful (might post pictures of it later, don't know yet). Later that day we drive to Chrudim to go food-shopping again, and we visit some other shops where my sister brought some new clothes.

___

Well, that was week two. Week three is coming, and after I've finished that post everything will go back to usual with Fashion From My Perspective, Behind The Songs, reviews, and maybe a new hairdye adventure... Who knows?

My Holiday in Czech Republic, week one

Sup guise!

Sorry for not updating much the past few days, but I only have 2 weeks of summer holiday left and I wanted to spend them with my parents and sister more than surfing the internet and playing the Sims 3 all day. But here I am, with my day-to-day story of my holiday in Czech! I am going to make 3 post, of one week each. Otherwise it'll probably be one huge post. Here's week one!

Day 1 (July 9 2011)

Today is the day of our journey to Czech, which should be about 12 hours without stops and being stuck in the busy traffic, so we expect it's going to take us about 14 hours to get there.

We have to leave early and get out of the Netherlands before it's getting busy on the road. Our journey is good, but with some delay because of work on the road.

The campside is very nice, and lies in a cute, small village surrounded by fields and woods.

Day 2 (July 10, 2011)

Today is all about realxing. We woke up, ate bread from a local baker that we ordered the day before, we showered and after all that we went to a nearby town to shop some food and buy some stuf we had forgotten. We shopped at 'Kaufland', a huge supermarket where they sold pretty much everything. From cereal to erasers to toys for your dog. Then we walked to another village and had dinner at one of the tree local restaurants/bars. The food was very nice.

Day 3 (July 11, 2011)

It was the second night with bad weather - lightning and thunder and stuff, which kept going on for hours - so we got up late. We went to see Chrudrim, a cute town with a doll museum. Unfortunately the museum is closed, but just looking around in the town is also very nice.

My dad and mom went for a little walk in the afternoon, my sister and I were lazy so we stayed at the campside.

Day 4 (July 12, 2011)

The weather is beautiful today. We wanted to walk in a nature reserve near Prozec. We started our walk in Bor u Scutce. The nature reserve was beautiful: huge, high rocks and trees everywhere. But the walk was very steep, a bit too steep for us. Back at the campside we just relaxed a bit.

Day 5 (July 13, 2011)

We wanted to go to a Dino Park in Prague today, but we couldn't find it. We drove 2 hours to Prague, then we searched there for like 3 hours and then went shopping at a huge mall in the city centre. We didn't buy anything, all the shops where the same as in the Netherlands. We drank something in a pavement and then went back to the campside and had dinner at a diffrent restaurant, which was even better that last time.

Day 6 (July 14, 2011)

The night was horrible again, it stormed all night and morning. We got up very late today.
Shopped some necessary stuff in Chrudrim and looked for a postal office on our way back, for stamps and telephone cards.

Day 7 (July 15, 2011)

We got up early today and went back to Prague. It took lots of time, but... We found the Dino Park! On the roof of a mall. It was smaller that expected, but really funny.

Then we went looking for a shop called 'Nosferatu' (My sister and I wanted to go there SO BAD, it's an alt/gothic shop in Prague and the site looked cool). We found it quickly, it was in the city centre.
Nosferatu is so cool! If you ever happen to be in Prague one day, go there. It's the biggest alt shop I've seen in my life. They sell loads of stuff. Regular brands such as Hell Bunny, Poizen Industries, Queen of Darkness, Spiral and loads of bandshirts, but they also sell brands I hadn't heard of before. They also have stuff such as Kiss masks, Manic Panic hairdye, gloves, stockings, and a pretty big collection of creepers and New Rock boots.

The store is located in a basement, the only thing you see when you walk in is a small room with black walls, a life-sized Dracula doll and glass stairs going down. Kinda scary. But the shop itself is awesome, and the guy that worked there that day spoke English and German.

We ate sandwiches on our way back and arrived late at the campside.

That was week one. I'm going to write the other two weeks as soon as I have time. Hope you liked it!

Guess Who's Back?

Sup guise!

That's right, I'm back from my holiday in Czech Republic. It was so cool! I'm going to write a post about my holiday, you know, telling what I did everyday and maybe with some pictures (which do not include me of course - my parents would kill me). I also want to give this blog a bit of a make-over. So don't panic if my blog suddenly has a diffrent banner of background.
I also celebrated my 14th birthday in Czech Republic, and my presents included a cd, nailpolish, pressed powder and books, so I also have some nice items to review. I'll make a poll about it.

I hope your past few weeks were as awesome as mine.

Summer Playlist

Sup guise,

My parents like to play music in the car, so I decided to make a HUGE playlist filled with happy summer songs. But the problem is: the music I listen to isn't very 'happy'. But today I found some songs on my computer from the time I was a diehard Jonas Brothers fan - I was, believe it or not - that fit in well with the songs I already found. And, well, here's my awesome summer playlist:

1. We Are Golden - Mika
2. Basket Case - Green Day
3. Planetary (GO!) - My Chemical Romance
4. Daylight - Matt & Kim
5. Free Ride - Edgar Winter Group
6. Song 2 - Blur
7. School's Out - Alice Cooper
8. We Made You - Eminem
9. On Melancholy Hill - Gorillaz
10. Happy Up There - Räyksopp
11. Shrinking Universe - Muse
12. Warning - Green Day
13. The Violent Hour - Sea Wolf
14. Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool - Editors
15. Castaway - Green Day
16. Mono - The Monotones
17. Summertime - My Chemical Romance
18. Fireflies - Owl City
19. New In Town - Little Boots
20. Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
21. Map Of Your Head - Muse
22. A Punk - Vampire Weekend
23. Wheels - Foo Fighters
24. Story Of My Life - Social Disortion
25. Holiday - Green Day
26. Sam - Tim Knol
27. Monsters - Hurricane Bells
28. Bulletproof - La Roux
29. Blame It On The Girls - Mika
30. Meet Me On The Equinox - Death Cab For Cutie
31. Welcome To Paradise - Green Day
32. Nature_1 - Muse
33. Friends - Band Of Skulls
34. Haus Am See - Peter Fox
35. Tremble For My Beloved - Collective Soul
36. Who I Am - Nick Jonas And The Administration
37. Deadbeat Holiday - Green Day
38. Vampire Money - My Chemical Romance

Best summer playlist ever, if I may say so. I know most of you will roll their eyes at some songs - Who I Am, lol - but I really think these are pretty cool songs for the summer. And they bring back good old memories.
I also would like to use this post to say goodbye: I haven't start packing yet and I was supposed to be ready a long time ago. I'll see you again in three weeks. Cheers!

Summer Holiday!

Hey everyone,

I think most of you are enjoying their summer holiday right now. Well, at least I am. And this saturday (the 9th of July, in case you didn't knew) I will be leaving on a 3-week holiday to Czech Republic. I won't be able to post anything in those three weeks, but before I leave I'm planning on making an extra long Behind The Songs post, a summer-proof alternative playlist, a Fashion From My Perspective post -the poll I made wasn't very helpful, Cybergoth, Romantic Goth and Geek Goth all had one vote so I need to figure out which style I'm going to do- and I finally recieved my online orders, so I might make a post about those as well.

I hope I've informed you enough, and I hope you're all enjoying your holiday as much as I am!
