Music video's for Kill The DJ and Madness

Hello everyone!

Green Day released their video for Kill The DJ a few days ago, and today Muse released the video for Madness. From both songs are also Making Of video's.

I think the video for Kill The DJ is okay. After the huge dissapointment I got from the Oh Love video, I was glad to see this video wasn't just girls and only seconds of Green Day playing, but on the other hand, it's still not the same as the quality from video's such as Last of The American Grils, 21 Guns or American Idiot. I do like the close-ups of Billie Joe, Mike and Tré though. And the fact that the crowd goes insane with blood everywhere at the end of the video.

The video for Madness, however, I think is fantastic. I love how it's like a short movie that makes you want to watch and see how it'll end. And Madness is like my favourite song of the moment too. I just love it so much. Also, Chris' bass in this video is kickass. And the SWAT team jumping over everything is pretty awesome too. I love this video. A lot.

What do you think of the video's?

New Muse single 'Madness' out now!

Hello everyone!

Muse premiered their new single Madness on BBC Radio yesterday.
The song is getting a lot of criticism, but I absolutely adore it. It's a whole other facet of Muse, one we've never heard before. BBC Radio also had a 30-minute interview with the band, where they spoke about the new album, Chris writing and singing, and their plans for the future.

The 2nd Law, Muse 6th studio album, comes out October 1st. The full video for Madness will be released soon, the video in this post is an official lyric video.

News on the new My Chemical Romance, Muse and Green Day albums!

Hello everyone,

The 2nd Law album cover
Source
I was on a holiday, and while I was gone, a lot has happened! There's some news on the new MCR, Muse and Green Day albums I really want to share with you.

The release date for the new Muse album, The 2nd Law, has been pushed back to October 1st. The band is going to release a single called Madness first, and it had been confirmed that the single will debut on BBC radio on Monday the 20th of August. You can pre-order The 2nd Law on the official Muse site.
They have also released a full version of their new song Unsustainable.

The release date for the new Green Day album, ¡Uno!, is coming closer and closer. The band have released their first single Oh Love on July 16th (my birthday! Best birthday present ever) and after that they also released a song called Let Yourself Go. There's also a studio version of Kill The DJ on Tumblr, but it hasn't been uploaded on the Green Day Youtube channel yet. I'd say keep an eye on the channel for Kill The DJ because it's an awesome song.

Source
My Chemical Romance, on the other hand, haven't revealed anything about their 5th studio album yet. But Gerard (Way, vocals) was on Spoilers this week, and in that interview he did say that for the new album, the band will wear costumes and that it's quite dark. The interview is really cute! Watch it here.
There are rumors about the new album having a Halloween theme. Hot Topic has a new MCR t-shirt with a design of a black cat and the number '13'. When they won a Kerrang! award, they had a painting of ghosts and to the question about what colour he thought when he thought of the new album, Frank (Iero, guitar) replied with 'orange'. But nothing has been confirmed yet!

I'll keep you updatd as much as I can.

Thank you for reading!

News about the new Muse album!

Muse revealed the track listing for their sixth studio album, The 2nd Law today.

Supremacy

Madness

Panic Station

Prelude

Survival

Follow Me

Animals

Explorers

Big Freeze

Save Me

Liquid State

The 2nd Law: Unsustainable

The 2nd Law: Isolated System

As you can see, both Unsustainable (the dubstep-like song featured in the album trailer) and Survival (the official song for the Olympic Games in London this summer) are featured on the album. I can't wait until September, to hear what the album will sound like.

Since Survival will be played practically the whole time during the Olympics, maybe they're worth watching this time?

Cheers!

Muse release trailer for album 6 and announce European tour dates!

Hello everyone,

yesterday, Muse released the trailer for their upcoming 6th album:  'The Second Law'.

I think the trailer is super awesome and I can't wait for the new album! On the internet (read: Tumblr) I've read a lot of criticism on the 'dupstep' in the video. Personally, I was a little shocked too when I first heard it, but after listening it a few times I started to like it. And well, it's Muse so everything they write is perfect.

There are also rumors of a leaked song called 'The 2nd Law', you can listen to it here. Someone on Tumblr said it was an intended B-side for the new album, and I don't know much else about it, apart from that it sounds amazing.

Other fantatic news is that Muse is going to tour in Europe this year! All tour dates are on their official site. Tickets go on sale on June 14th, but if you have a account on muse.mu you can already buy tickets. I'm going to their gig in Amsterdam on December 17th, and I can't wait! I've seen Muse live before and I know how fabulous they are. It's definately one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Yesterday on Tumblr, this amazing fanart for The 2nd Law was on my dashboard:

New Muse Album To Be 'Radically Diffrent'

In a recent interview with NME, Chris Wolstenholme hinted at a new direction for the band's 6th LP: 'It feels like it's time to do something radically different on our next album'

NME: "Muse's Chris Wolstenholme has said that the band want to do something "radically different" on their next album.

With the band currently working on the follow-up to their 2009 album 'The Resistance', the bassist told Kerrang! magazine that it felt like they were "drawing a line" under their past and were eager to embrace new ideas.

He said: [The band] feel like we are drawing a line under a certain period of what we've done in our career. It feels like it's time to move on and do something radically different.
However, he also admitted that it wasn't always easy to progress and push their sound forward, adding: "But then you could get into the studio and go back to what you're comfortable with. You get in the studio and there's a natural process and you have to see where a song will take you."

Muse's new LP will be their sixth studio album and is due to be released in late 2012. The band have not given any details on who will be acting as producer for the record as yet."

I'm so excited! How about you?

Brand New: Muse and MCR at the Reading And Leeds Festival 2011

Hello everyone!

Source: Weheartit
The Reading And Leeds Festival (UK) started yesterday and both Muse and My Chemical Romance have performed there. I've spotted some really cool video's on the internet and I just wanted to show them to you.

Before that, let me remind you that this, for all Musers, is a very special Reading And Leeds Festival. This is the last time Muse will perform songs from their second album Origin Of Symmetry. I don't know if that means that we'll never hear Plug In Baby, Citizen Erased. Bliss and New Born again, but is is a very sad thing.

Source: Tumblr
Anyways, let's move on to the video's.

My Chemical Romance

(song starts at about 2:51)

There are more songs out there, but I've already posted way too much. The setlist:
1 'Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)'
2 'I'm Not Okay (I Promise)'
3 'Planetary (Go!)'
4 'The Only Hope For Me Is You'
5 'DESTROYA'
6 'Mama'
7 'Sing'
8 'Vampire Money'
9 'The Kids From Yesterday'
10 'Famous Last Words'
11 'Teenagers'
12 'Dead!'
13 'S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W'
14 'Helena'
15 'We Will Rock You' (with Brian May - Queen)
16 'Welcome To The Black Parade' (with Brian May - Queen)

Awesome Killjoy outfits. James in a Mousekat costume. Mike refused to be dressed up, I guess. But he looks also cool anyway.

My Chemical Romance announce plans to record a new album: read more about it here

Muse

They all look awesome. Don't like Dom's shirt though.

Sorry for the screaming, but come on, this was the best video of the actual openig that I could find.
THE STAGE IS EPIC. OOS FORKS EVERYWHERE.

This video brings back good old memories. Man With The Harmonice + Knights Of Cydonia. I like Chris' bass.

Coolest. Intro. Ever.

Behind The Songs: Stockholm Syndrome

Hi!

I've been playing this song non-stop today, so this Behind The Songs post is about Stockholm Syndrome.

About Stockholm Syndrome

While this song was written on piano by Matthew Bellamy, it was recorded on both guitar and synths. Matt then mixed both of the sounds together. The main riff was inspired by System of a Down. Standard set closer throughout the Absolution tour and sometimes during the Black Holes and Revelations tour. Usually multiple riffs are played after the song. An example of this is the L.A Staples Centre Gig in which more than eight riffs were played after Stockholm Syndrome.
Stockholm Syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage from August 23 to August 28, 1973. In this case, the victims became emotionally attached to, and even defended, their captors after they were freed from their six-day ordeal. The term was coined by the criminologist and psychologist Nils Bejerot, who assisted the police during the robbery, and referred to the syndrome in a news broadcast. The majority of the hostages were okay, but one of them committed suicide and another changed his name to that of one of his captors and disappeared.
The song was added to Guitar Hero 3 on 8th May 2008 along with Supermassive Black Hole and Exo-Politics as part of a Muse track pack.
A cover of this song is featured on the String Quartet Tribute to Muse.
The effect that Matt uses on this song live on H.A.A.R.P (which he kicks on after the second chorus) is what's known as 'zero-through flange'; which, incidentally, is the earliest form of flange, back when recording engineers were pinching the actual tape to get the effect. However, zero-through flange is available on very few conventional flanger pedals. Matt achieves this effect by using his TC Electronic G Major (this effect is also available on the TC Electronic Vortex flanger, for those of you who want to replicate the sound at a much cheaper price).
When the chorus is played backwards, it sounds something like "You can't see me, we sneak off. I lost to love. Please ... save the night wind and high above, I lost to love. Sing, save". Allegedly.

Lyrics

I won't stand in your way

Let your hatred grow
And she'll scream and she'll shout and she'll pray
And she had a name, yeah she had a name

 I won't hold you back
 Let your anger rise
And we'll fly and we'll fall and we'll burn
No one will recall, no one will recall

This is the last time I'll abandon you
And this is
The last time I'll forget you
I wish I could

Look to the stars
Let hope burn in your eyes
And we'll love and we'll hate and we'll die
All to no avail, all to no avail

This is the last time I'll abandon you
And this is
The last time I'll forget you
I wish I could

This is the last time I'll abandon you
And this is
The last time I'll forget you
I wish I could
I wish I could

Behind The Songs: The Exogenesis: Symphony

Hey everyone!

Here's my extra-long Behind The Songs post, as I promised. It's about the Exogenesis: Symphony, which exists out of three songs. Enjoy!

About the Exogenesis: Symphony

"Exogenesis: Symphony" is the last song on The Resistance, and is split into three four-minute tracks, each separately named. It features an orchestra of "about 40 musicians" throughout, being described by Matt as "almost purely classical in style" The song tells the story of humanity leaving a destructive Earth behind to populate elsewhere in the Universe.
Matt later said that "This is influenced by Rachmaninov, Richard Strauss, Chopin and Pink Floyd. It looks at the concept of 'Panspermia.' It is a story of humanity coming to an end and everyone pinning their hopes on a group of astronauts who go out to explore space and spread humanity to another planet."

The term exogenesis is the technical name for panspermia, the hypothesis that life is seeded across the universe from other sources, for example, arriving to Earth on comets, hence "cross pollination".
The song was first mentioned in March 2008 as a "15-minute space-rock solo" and mentioned by the band numerous times after that. Prior to that, it had been alluded to by Matt in 2007 as "a few bits and pieces that we kind of set to one side that were ... a little bit too progressive and symphonic for [Black Holes and Revelations]", suggesting that the band may have first attempted to record it in 2005.
The orchestral parts within the song are arranged by Matthew Bellamy. He stated he wanted to do this himself as he "never wanted to collaborate with a string arranger as they may make it 'theirs'". The orchestra which performed said parts was comprised of twenty-five musicians, who were layered into fifty parts, so as to keep production costs low.
Chris said in an interview the piano parts from the song have been around for quite a while. He mentioned Matt always "plays these beautiful piano pieces that we could never figure out how to work into a Muse song until now."
During the recording session with the orchestra, Chris "felt a bit jaded" and was pretty upset for not being able to see the recording due to being sick at the time.
Dom plays the Timpani in the beginning of Overture.
Matt has wanted but been reluctant to play Part 2 live because of its difficulty.

Exogenesis: Symphony Part 1 (Overture)

The first part of the song starts off mellow.
According to Matt, "Part 1 is a jaded acceptance that civilisation will end." The drum part displays a Massive Attack influence.

Lyrics:

Aping my soul,
You stole my overture,
Trapped in God's program,
Oh I can't escape

Who are we?
Where are we?
When are we?
Why are we?
Who are we?
Where are we?
Why, why, why?

I can't forgive you,
And I can't forget

 Who are we?
Where are we?
When are we?
Why are we?
Who are we?
Where are we?
When are we?
Why are we in here?

Exogenesis: Symphony Part 2 (Cross-Pollination)

In the Muse Q&A in November 2008, Dominic Howard stated that the song would change genres throughout, indicating a significantly different middle section.
Matthew Bellamy stated, "Part 2 is a desperate hope that sending astronauts to find and populate other planets will be successful alongside the recognition that this is the last hope."

Lyrics:

Rise above the crowds And wade through toxic clouds Breach the outer sphere The edge of all our fears Rest with you We are counting on you It's up to you Spread our codes to the stars You must rescue us all Spread our codes to the stars You must rescue us all Tell us, tell us your final wish Now we know you can never return Tell us, tell us your final wish
We will tell it to the world

Exogenesis: Symphony Part 3 (Redemption)
The track by track review by Gigwise describes that it concludes in a "suitably Muse-like way" and that "the song builds into an emotive and epic chorus where Bellamy and Wolstenholme share vocal duties".
Matt said, "...Part 3 is when the astronauts realize that it is just one big cycle, and recognize unless humanity can change it will happen all over again."

Lyrics:

Let's start over again Why can't we start it over again? Just let us start it over again And we'll be good This time we'll get it... Get it right It's our last chance to forgive ourselves

This was the last Behind The Songs post before my three-week holiday, so I hope this is enough ;)
Bye!

New Superband Featuring Dom

Reports are starting to trickle in regarding the formation of a new superband, dubbed 'Expensive Love'. The band is rumoured to include Alex Carapetis (associated w/ Nine Inch Nails), Dominic Howard, Mark Stoermer (The Killers), Ray Suen (Flaming Lips) and Jason Hill (Louis XIV).

The news was originally announced on Jason Hill's Facebook page, with the message:

Hi All,

I’ll be playing my new material for the first time on July 15 in Silverlake, CA at Satellite (formally Spaceland). I’ve been working on an album for two years with some friends of mine and we are almost done. The band playing on July 15 is Alex Carapetis, Dominic Howard(from Muse), Mark Stoermer (from Killers), Ray Suen (Flaming Lips), Sam Gendel on Sax and myself. The show will probably sell quick so I wanted to tell all my friends first before it goes public. Hope you can make the fun. Stay tuned for bits of music to be released coming soon. The album is the best thing I’ve ever done. The band will be playing on July 15 under the name EXPENSIVE LOVE. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.thesatellitela.com/.

Hope to see you,
 Jason Hill

This is awesome. Unfortunately, I'm on holiday on the 15th of July, so I probably will read the reviews a few weeks after the show. Damnit.

Behind The Songs: Take A Bow

Hey everyone!

I found out that if you talk with someone about 'Take A Bow', everyone thinks you mean Take A Bow from Rihanna. And I haven't met any non-Muser (yet) who knew that Muse also made a song that's called Take A Bow, long before Rihanna did. So, that's why this Behind The Songs post is about Take A Bow, the first song on the Black Holes And Revelations album.

About Take A Bow

Take a Bow calls on world leaders to take responsibility for their actions. Muse move through three musical stages: starting off as a classical piece before moving into a techno mid-section and a heavy "apocalyptic rock" ending. Initially described "a looping epic which morphs into a gothic fairytale".
Initially called "Hex", "Take a Bow" was originally going to be at the end of the album. Two months later, Chris indicated it could become the opening track. Put first on the album because it ends in the key of B which is the key of the second track. .
Matt said in a German Interview that: "The first song "Take A Bow", is about the feeling of the little man who lost control of anything and now wants to take revenge on authority".
Wolstenholme: We wrote it at the end of the Absolution sessions, and it sounds similar [to Absolution tracks]. It has evolved a lot since then, but it’s principle remains the same: a change of periodic agreements which are at the brink of exploding. Its structure is mathematical, the main idea being a formula with neither chorus nor verse. Dom’s never played like that, with very jazzy rhythms, slow ones, followed by more chaotic bits integrated into the whole.
Take a Bow was often played as a piano interlude between Citizen Erased and Space Dementia on the Absolution tour, as well as an intro to Feeling Good on The Resistance Tour.
Take a Bow is written in 3/4 time and moves at a tempo of 130 bpm. Bellamy's vocal range in the song spans from C3 to G4 in the modal register, and up to F♯5 in falsetto; one of the wider vocal ranges in a Muse song.

My Opinion

Black Holes And Revelations is my favourite Muse album, mostly because I just love the science-fiction/Mars/alien/conspiracy-theory sound the album has, and Take A Bow is a very good example of that sound. It's also pretty electronic, and it reminds me of the band Editors -you might know them from one of my previous playlists. The lyrics are also pretty awesome: it really tells a story, which I think is very well done.

Lyrics:

Corrupt
You corrupt
And bring corruption to all that you touch

Hold
You'll behold
And beholden for all that you've done

Spell
Cast a spell
Cast a spell on the country you run

And risk
You will risk
You will risk all their lives and their souls

And burn
You will burn
You will burn in hell
Yeah, you'll burn in hell
You'll burn in hell
You'll burn in hell for your sins

Oh, our freedom's consuming itself
What we've become
Is contrary to what we want
Take a bow

Death
You bring death
And destruction to all that you touch

Pay
You must pay
You must pay for your crimes against the earth

Hex
Feed the hex
Feed the hex on the country you love

And beg
You will beg
You will beg for their lives and their souls

Yeah, and burn
You will burn
You will burn in hell
Yeah, you'll burn in hell
You'll burn in hell
Yeah, you'll burn in hell
You'll burn in hell
Yeah you'll burn in hell for your sins

On The Web #11

Hey everyone!

It's been ages since my last On The Web post, so it was about time for a new one. Fortunately, I've found an awesome Tumblr just a few days ago. It's called The Little Muser Things, and the title says it all.
"This is a blog for all the little Muser moments that make us all happy.''
And yes, all the posts on the blog made me go 'I have that too!' or 'I know that too!', really funny. Here are some examples:

For the non-Musers reading this, watch the video below

If you're not a Muser, I don't think you'll like the Tumblr. Some of the things -like 'When Matt has a new favourite shirt'- are stuff that only fans like me get - the people that check Muse.mu, Muselive.com, MuseWiki.org, know all funny moments, all quotes, and all the songs, you know. But even if you're not a Muser and you do like Muse a lot, you might like some of the things anyway.
Here's the link to this awesome Tumblr: http://littlemuserthings.tumblr.com/

And that's it for this post. See you next time!

Behind The Songs: Cave

Hello everyone!

This time, the new Behind The Songs post is about Cave, another one of my personal favourites.

About Cave:

One of the first songs Muse ever recorded, first appearing on the Muse EP. It was subsequently re-recorded and released as a single before featuring on Showbiz. The versions on the Muse EP and Showbiz differ.
"Cave" was known as Nova Scotia before the release of the Muse EP.
Matthew Bellamy:
"The idea for Cave came from that rubbish American book, Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus. There's this bit about how men go into a cave when they get stressed and I think that's probably true, although, personally, I tend to let it out. I did have a bit of a tantrum in my hotel bathroom last night - but I managed to repair the toilet, so that's OK."
On a performance of the song at Melbourne ABC Studios in 2000, Matt says at the beginning of the performance that the song is "About an old friend of mine...he's not a friend anymore".
"Cave" is featured in the soundtrack for the movie Little Nicky.
A live favourite on the tours between 1999-2001. Bellamy disliked playing the song live due, firstly, to it being an old song and, secondly, to the sustained vocal note during the "cave" in "so come in my cave". Despite this, it was played for the first time in 8 years at Teignmouth on piano instead of guitar and half a step down, and is still continued to be played live.

My Opinion
This song is so cool. From the beginning to the end. The song starts with some alien-like bleeping sound or something, and then comes the awesome guitar riff, then the drums, and then Matt starts singing. Just awesome. And it's a great song to listen if you're angry or something. And about singing along: It's definitely harder to sing than you might think, particularly the chorus. So, yeah, you might want to get some singing lessons before trying.

Lyrics:

Leave me alone, it's nothing serious.
I'll do it myself, it's got nought to do with you
And there's nothing you could do.

You can see it and you can almost hear it too,
You can almost taste it, it's nought to do with you
And there's still nothing that you could do.

So come in my cave and
I'll burn your heart away.
Come in my cave, and I'll burn your heart away.

Please close your ears and try to look away
So you'll never hear a single word I say
and don't ever come my way.

Leave me alone, it's nothing serious.
I'll do it myself, it's got nought to do with you
And there's still nothing you could do.

So come in my cave, and I'll burn your heart away.
Come in my cave, and arrest me for my mistakes. Yeah.

I hope you like the song too, and see you next time!

Behind The Songs: Micro Cuts

Hello everyone,

It's time for a new Behind The Songs post, and this time it's about Micro Cuts. Enjoy!

About Micro Cuts

Micro Cuts is a blend of baroque melody, high pitched vocals and metal. Matthew Bellamy uses falsetto and whistle register vocals peaking at G5 during the chorus and Ab5 in descending vocals towards the end. Matt has said the song was inspired by a dream he had in which he was in desert and there were giant blades swinging from the sky.

"Micro Cuts" has been speculated to have been inspired by Prelude N°3 in D minor (BWV999) by Johann-Sebastian Bach.

"This stems from hallucinations I had of triangular blades cutting into the back of my head. It's a feeling that information is being infiltrated into your brain. I'd seen a TV programme about psychological warfare and how the government could be controlling us using a type of radiation, sending pulses to our brains. So micro cuts are cuts into your being that you can't see or avoid" - Matthew Bellamy

Micro Cuts is a metal song, with elements of baroque music. It's written in D minor, and moves at a very fast tempo of 160 bpm. The time signature frequently shifts between 4/4 and 6/4.

Bellamy's vocal range spans from D4 to A♭5, and shares his highest recorded note with Showbiz. Similar to Supermassive Black Hole, Bellamy never uses the modal register, even on lower notes where falsetto is difficult to maintain. His tone is very different in both songs, defying the common belief that the falsetto register is limited in tonal variation.

Live favourite on the 2001 and 2002 tours. The first time Micro Cuts was played live, it featured different lyrics in place of "Micro waves me insane, A blade cuts in your brain" and the chorus. Early live versions featured an extended outro that featured parts of the song "Execution Commentary", as well as extra lyrics.

The descending vocals towards the end of the song have been played intermittently through time. During early 2001 it wasn't sung at all, and post 2002 it wasn't usually sung, although one example of the descending vocals post-2002 was at The Mercy Lounge in 2004. In the latter half of the 2005 tour, the post-final-chorus section was used as an outro to "Stockholm Syndrome" on at least two occasions.

"Micro Cuts" made a return to set lists during the 2007 European tour. The first performance of 2007 featured a largely clean guitar (without effects), while further performances feature a "new effect", which mimics the layering on the album recording. The descending vocals have not returned, while vocals have been clean so far. After the final chorus and before the final decent, Bellamy has used the Kaoss pad to create a sound similar to the Kaoss pad solo and outro used with live "Supermassive Black Hole" performances.

Played occasionally during the Absolution and the Black Holes and Revelations tours. A live version of "Micro Cuts" appears on the live albums Hullabaloo Soundtrack and H.A.A.R.P..
During The Resistance tour, the outro is played in place of the outro to "Dead Star".

Lyrics

Hands are red with your blame
Megaphone screaming my name
Whimpers someone I should've loved
Souls weeping above

I've seen
What you’re doing to me
Destroying puppet strings
To our souls

Micro waves me insane
A blade cuts in your brain
Sounds like forks on a plate
Blackboard scratched with hate

I've seen
What you’re doing to me
Destroying puppet strings
To our souls

My Opinion

Micro Cuts isn't one of my favourite Muse songs, but I so like it a lot. It's just, once I had a headache and I was listening to my iPod, ans suddenly it went on shuffle and Micro Cuts started playing. My. Head. Hurt. A. Lot. But it is a cool song. I mean, when we play Origin Of Symmetry in the car and Micro Cuts is on, I always have this 'Matt how can you sing this high'-feeling. I can sing pretty high, but when I sing this it's just screaming. I stopped trying.

Music Video:

The song doesn't have an official music video, but I found a version with the lyrics so you can scream sing along. I hope you like the song, and see you next time!

Dude, Muse is winning lots of awards lately. Maybe they should do an European tour too. And visit the Netherlands, of course. I still have pictures hanging in my room from their last concert here, in the
Goffertpark, in June last year. Anyways, I wanted to share this with you.
I also found this on muselive.com, the official muse fansite.

Muse will return with a potentially "softer" album next year, the band have revealed.

Drummer Dominic Howard and bassist Chris Wolstenholme spoke about the plan to NME at this afternoon's (May 19) Ivor Novello Awards ceremony in London, where they won the International Achievement award.

After revealing that they were planning to put out the follow-up to 2009’s 'The Resistance' in 2012 Howard said that the album could mark a shift in style for the band. "Matt [Bellamy, frontman] showed me a few chords recently," he said. "Who knows, it might be softer rock, but then it's up to me and Chris to make it heavy again. A heavy rock lullaby! But I'm sure it will move forward in some way."

Wolstenholme explained that the band had been jamming on the road ahead of sessions later this year. He added: "We've got Reading Festival [plus the Leeds Festival, with them set to headline both] in August and maybe a few weeks off after that. So September, October time we’ll get into the studio and start writing and working on the songs."

Howard concluded: "It takes as long as it takes really, because you have to love it before you can just chuck it out there and into the real world. But definitely next year."

Muse have suggested that they will play their 2001 album 'Origin Of Symmetry' in full at the Reading And Leeds Festivals.

Yay I love 2012. A new Muse album, the world coming to an end... See you next time!

Have you notices the new blog counter, right under the poll? It counts how many people are visiting my blog at the same time. So if it's only you, you will see '1 online', but there can also be two or more people at the same time.
Very cool, indeed.

What? It's cool, right? And my very cool GIFs won't move, for some strange reason. So I was like 'Yeah, I can do a serious picture instead of a funny one.' And come on, their van is priceless.
