Muse is carrying the Olympic Torch!

Hello everyone!
Source: Muselive.com

I just found out Muse is going to be carrying the Olympic Torch through Teignmouth on 17:30 today.
The BBC has a livestream here but it's not working on my computer.

There are also rumors Muse will be playing a secret gig in Teignmouth tonight. With some new songs, perhaps?

I'm going to stalk the BBC website now.

Song Of The Week: I Miss You by Blink-182

Hello everyone!

The Greatest Hits album cover
Source: Google Images
This week's song of the week is from Blink-182, a song I only discovered weeks ago. My younger sister brought their Greatest Hits CD and I Miss You, together with Feeling This, The Rock Show and All The Small Things, are my personal favourites.

I found an - in my opinion - very good analysis on the song here but it's quite long.
On lyricinterpetations.com, I found a shorter meaning:

"To me it sounds like the chorus of this song indicates mixed emotions towards someone. When delong sings "don't waste your time on me, you're already a voice inside my head" it's as if he's telling someone that it's too late, they're nothing more to him than a memory. Then hoppus follows with "I miss you...", as if contradicting the previous statement. It's like this person has been hurt badly by the one he loves, and wants to them to leave, but all that he can think about is how much he loves them. Other phrases in the song seem to indicate this as well: "the angel from my nightmare" (unless you interpret this as a direct reference to the nightmare before christmas). The "nightmare" mentioned is a pre-conceived situation this person has been fearing (ie: his loved one cheating on him, or maybe breaking up with him). And the "angel" obviously, is his loved one. The verses of the song sound mostly like symbolic reminiscings of an unrequitted lover. In anycase, that's just how I interpret the song."

This is the official music video for I Miss You. If you're interested, you can find the lyrics here

I hope you like the song as much as I do. Have fun listening and see you next time!

Song of the Week: It's Complicated by A Day To Remember

Hello everyone,

This week's song of the week is It's Complicated by A Day To Remember. I've known A Day To Remember for about half a year now, I discovered them through YouTube as a recommendation for an other video. I then brought their album What Seperates Me From You on iTunes and fell in love. It's the only ADTR album I know but it's good. Apart from It's Complicated, All I Want and All Signs Point To Lauderdale from the same album are on my list of favourite songs ever.

I haven't been able to find an official meaning of the song, but on lyricinterpetations.com I did find this interpetation:

The What Seperates Me From You album cover
Source: Google
"I think the song is talking about how the same thing keeps happening again. "Here we go again" I think its about the person he loves whether it's a relationship or a friendship the person has changed. He's talking about how much it hurts for people you love to change. "You're not the person that I knew back then,it's all to late to set things right 'cause everything has been," The second part is talking about how he knows he can't change it. It makes him mad and it hurts him. "Let's try and act like this didn't happen. Follow your friends like you ever had them" Makes me believe he just wants to forget about it and move on no matter how much it hurts him."

On songmeanings.net I also found this comment:

"In AP magazine Jeremy said that this is about what was going on in his relationship with his ex-girlfriend of 4 years near the end of their relationship. He moved out of their shared apartment and in with parents again. Overall he said he tries to convey throughout the record that he was too involved with work to be with someone."

I don't know if the second comment is true, but I do agree with the first comment. And apart from that, It's Complicated is just a very catchy song.

The lyrics to It's Complicated can be found here

I hope you like the song as much as I do. If you do, I highly reccomend the other songs on the album.
Thanks for reading!
