Upcoming Gig: Black Veil Brides @ Melkweg, Amsterdam

Hello guys,

That's right. I'm going to see BVB next week! I am soooo exited. My little sister and my Mum are also going. I'm probably going to ask a friend of mine to come too because we have one extra ticket. My Dad wanted to go with us, until he heard Black Veil Brides was screamo and metal. Now he keeps talking about 'that heavy metal concert' and we just ignore him.

I have one question. Is there a specific dress code for BVB concerts? I also don't have a BVB bandshirt. What bandshirts can I wear to the gig? I have bandshirts form Green Day, Muse, Metallica, My Chemcial Romance and Nightwish. And one from the Jonas Brothers but... er.... Pretend like I didn't just said that.

xoxo

Review: Hangover Hero + My Own Army @ Baroeg, 07/10/2011

It's a while ago, but on October 7th I went to a Hangover Hero concert, with My Own Army as support act. This is my review, finally.

My Dad, Mom, little sister and I arrived at Baroeg about one hour before the show. We where quite late -usually when we go to a concert we are in the queue two or three hours before the show- but there weren't much people yet. Ten or fifteen maybe, including us.

Baroeg is a very small venue, with a small bar-like part and a part where the bands play. It is really cute through.
When the doors opened we stayed in the bar-part (I don't know how to call it otherwise) for a while before we walked into the actual part where the band played (don't know another name for this either). Hangover Hero's support act was My Own Army, a band we had never heard of before. People were putting instruments on the stage and stuff (later it turned out to be My Own Army themselves) and we just stood there and waited.

This is My Own Army

My Own Army is awesome! My siter and I both liked their music alot as soon as they started playing. It's a Dutch band, and Dutch bands are usually weird and ugly, but these guys are epic. The song I liked the most was 'Secondhand Mother'. At some point My Own Army played some song from Pink Floyd (How do you even spell that? And nope, I don't know the name of the song). We didn't know it was Pink Floyd until my Dad told us afterwards. But, well, anyways, my sister and I stood at the front and suddenly the singer jumped of the stage right next to us (like, we could have hugged him if we wanted to) and my sister and I where like 'wtf' at first but then we just watched him headbanging and stuff and we went like 'zomg zomg zomg'. I think he found us funny. Then all of a sudden he held his microphone in front of my sisters face and expected her to sing along but we didn't know the lyrics so we just giggled and stepped back. He laughed really hard so I don't think he really cared.
After the show, my Mum brought their CD (they called it an EP, I don't get the diffrence but ok) for 5 euros and got the autographs of all four band members because my sister and I didn't dare to ask (thanks Mum!).
It was really cool. My Own Army rocks.

Then we waited for Hangover Hero. And this old guy wearing a bandshirt from Quarterpast, an album from Mayan I have on my iTunes (lol) started talking to us and we drank a glass of coke. And my sister stole My Own Army's setlist and hanged it on her wall.

Hangover Hero is also awesome! They have this really cool and unique sound. They reminded me of the Foo Fighters a bit. There are no proper pictures of Hangover Hero on Google so sorry, no Hangover Hero pic this time.
Hangover Hero is an unknown band, but it was really great to see dedicated fans singing along all songs and for one moment being the happiest persons alive. Really special.

At the end of the concert we just went home and went to bed immediately. I was soooo tired.

Hangover hero is great. It'd be great to see them live again, and I also want to see My Own Army again.
I hope this review was interesting

SORRY

Hello everyone,

SORRY for not posting lately, but I still have no internet and my Dad is behind his computer all the time so I couldn't go on his one either. But here I am, and I'm going to write a post about Hangover Hero and a new upcoming gig in a minute. Bye!

Internet Problems

I'm writing this on my dad's computer so I'm keeping it short.
My computer has no internet. It's weird, but it just doens't work anymore, all of a sudden. So I can't do anything. Only on my dad's computer. This is the first time I've been online in, well it feels like a week.
As soon as possible, I'm going to write a review from a concert I've been to last Friday, and I have another concert coming up in two weeks, where I'm also going to write about soon.
My dad says he doesn't know how to fix the problem, so I have no idea when I'll have internet again.
Sorry to keep you guys waiting,

My Hairdye Adventure Continues

Hello everyone!

I dyed my hair last weekend. In this new My Hairdye Adventure post I'm going to tell you all about it.

My original plan was to bleach my hair to a caramel-ish colour, and then dye it temporary red. I would then bleach my haur again after two or three weeks to a light blonde and then dye it dark blue. Well, it didn't go as planned. But it does mostly of the time. I didn't expect it to go this bad, though.

Together with a friend, I brought two jars of Directions hairdye in the colour 'Vermillion Red' which, on the sample, is a nice dark red, but not too dark, just a nice and warm wine red colour. It cost me about €14 euros, very cheap.
We also brought a container of dye-remover from Garnier (of however you spell it) for 13,99 euros, which I found rather expensive.

This is awesome

That evening, my mum put the dye-remover in my hair. The people in the shop had already warned my I had do get this done by a professional, but the last time I bleached my hair (you can read that adventure here, but the post is in Dutch) it worked out very well and I had a nice, light blonde colour in the end.
For one moment, I hesitated about buying one or two containers, but the container was pretty big so my friend and I figured it would be enough for my hair (I have very thick hair).

But, after my mom put it in and left it in for the maximum amount of time, it looked HORRIBLE. The part where the blach had grown out was almost white, the upper part of my hair was light brown, underneath it was blonde and the tips where still black.
So, the next day I went to my hairdresser and she fixed it for me. It took a long time, about three hours, because first she had do pre-pigment my hair red (I don't know it pre-pigmenting is a word, but it's how she called it and I've never heard of it before, either) because it would become green otherwise (green is a nice colour, but not the colour I was looking for) and after the pre-pigmenting she dyed my hair two shades lighter than black, so basically a very dark brown. She also wanted to give me highlights, but that would cost me €70 euros and that was a bit out of budget for me.

I still have the red hairdye and I think it will give my hair a nice, reddish shine, but before I dye my hair I'll do a strand test first, who knows what colour my hair could turn in this time.

It's sad it didn't work out the way I hoped, but I like my hair now. I might get the highlights later, but I want my hair to become nice and shiny again first.

So: Watch out with that dye-remover!

You'll hear form me soon
